New Day in the Peace Ministries in Fort St. John serves women and their families with addictive and otherwise broken lifestyles as they are willing to seek freedom and healing and want to lead a life of purpose.

We offer them a relationship with God and with others in community, and the opportunity to change from the inside out.

The sun comes up it's a new day dawning...

It's time to sing my song again....

Whatever is past and whatever lays before me....

Let me be singing when the evening comes.

New Day in the Peace

New Day in the Peace Ministries (formerly known as S.C.A.R.S) is a non-profit society created for the purpose of restoring the lives of people caught in the destructive trap of addiction and other harmful patterns of living. We are not a rehabilitation facility in the traditional sense.

Our focus is not so much on the addiction, or destructive behaviour. We believe these are merely symptoms of a disease that affects all of humanity. The disease of sin (separation from God – through rebellion and self-will) can only be overcome by reconciliation with God on His terms.

Until one understands the love of God and the price He paid by sending Jesus to die for them, they can never be truly free from the things that enslave them. This is our focus ... salvation, and the recognition of the power of the gospel to transform a life permanently, and then the discipleship of those who have made the choice to be reconciled to God.

If you or someone you know needs help with addictions or other destructive problems please contact us for more information.
